DEFA Marine – Plugin System

DEFA charging systems have been developed to simplify the installation and connection of 230 V AC. This is made possible by waterproof Plugin connectors and associated cables.

The system is very simple, reliable and durable, and can be installed without the use of a certified installer.

There are various functional needs when installing on ships. In addition, marine systems use a distribution box that contains fuses, protection against grounding loss and galvanic isolators to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion, and loss of grounding on the external power supply. The best way to prevent galvanic corrosion is to use an ISO transformer. The DEFA charging system is modular, enabling additional functionalities (eg. engine heating) and the use of additional equipment.
